Certification Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current license/certification in Wisconsin.
  • Current registration with the National board for Certification of Occupational Therapy.
  • Current American Heart Association CPR Certification.
  • Prefer active membership in American Occupational Therapy Association or Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Association (but not a requirement).
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job Duties

  • Provide Occupational Therapy treatments to patients according to treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist when performing tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
  • Observe, record, and report to the Occupational Therapist the patient conditions reactions and responses related to treatment.
  • Maintain daily records of treatments and document progress notes on patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in consulting with family members, physicians and other health care professionals as appropriate.
  • Assist with the care of the Occupational Therapy department and equipment.
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist with in-service programs and other meetings as assigned by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Access continuing education opportunities appropriate to discipline and responsibilities in order to maintain clinical competency.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
  • This position must continually meet the productivity objective of 87%. PRN Home Health and Therapy reserves the right to adjust each individual employee’s productivity objective independently based upon said employee’s specific facility responsibilities.
  • Act in compliance with PRN Therapy Management Policies and Procedures, State, Federal and Professional Organization regulatory standards and guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
